The insolubility of the alkyl halide in water allows the separation of it from the aqueous layer using a separatory funnel. The alkyl halide, then, wereâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦The temperature should be recorded. When the sample started to boil, the heat was removed and left to cool down before it was disassembled. The pure tert-butyl chloride was then collected and placed in a 10 mL graduated cylinder cooled in an ice bath. The fraction that boiled at 49-52 ÃÅ C was the one collected and submitted to the instructor in a labeled vial. Figure 1. Simple Distillation set-up Results and Discussion The synthesis of alkyl halides was done by adding hydrogen halide, HX (in this experiment, HCl was used). Using tertiary alcohol is most recommended from the synthesis of alkyl halides because it is the most stable and it will react quickly to the reagent. HBr and HI can more readily undergo homolytic cleavage (one electron to each atom) than HCl, since the halogens are not so electronegative. Thus, with a little push, e.g. by a peroxy radical that steals an H atom, these two acids can form bromine and iodine atoms, which can undergo free radical chain reactions. This reaction is the reason for the antimarkovikov addition of HBr to alkenes. In the upper atmosphere, chlorine atoms too can survive, and both chlorine and bromine atoms are responsible for free radical chain reactions with convert ozone (O3) back to dioxygen, thus destroying the ozone layer which protects the earth from the near ultraviolet light from the sun. The area of the theater of drama is another important art. Dramatic activities are usually part of every school and community program. Classes dramatize the events they are studying; clubs or organizations and institutions stage plays. The play may be a comedy, tragedy, mystery, musical or melodrama. Development of Sustainability Management Plan
Question: Describe about the Development of Sustainability Management Plan. Answer: Introduction Development of sustainability management plan is an appropriate way to bring sustainability in the services in every field. It gives an efficient procedure to influence individuals via the method of change by rectifying the aims and targets. As the issues regarding environment increases in the society, so the environmental program, as well as environmental education, is necessary for the awareness of ecological sustainability. Tiny Opera Company, which was founded by Collen Starr, in year 1970 has had implemented strategies for workplace sustainability. This essay will outline the practices that the company has implemented for sustainability. The study will also examine the strategies for promoting awareness of sustainability policies. Organizational approaches to sustainability Everything people do includes the utilization of resources either natural or man-made. Each and every aspect of life is depending on the natural world. Sustainability is totally about the understandings that safety of humans is dependent on nature or planet, and also that the resources that are utilizing are not unlimited. Sustainability is the way and the aptitude for the foreseeable future. From the last several decades, the scope and area for sustainability have enhanced in the industrial, commercial and educational sector[1]. Developing a sustainability policy for workplace requires the understanding and knowledge of environmental factors that affect the business. It was found in a report that majority of the global consumers are agreeable to pay higher prices for goods that produce lower gas emissions. A business firm can decrease its environmental impact only after applying new sustainable strategies and policies. For developing a workplace sustainability policy, Tiny Opera Company has determined the possibility of its project. A business entity should develop a plan that develops from stage to stage i.e. first making changes in their manufacturing unit and later expanding it to other departments. These concepts should be the standards and guidelines addressed in sustainability creativities[2]. In Tiny Opera, sustainability is the concept of reducing water and energy and decreasing the pollution and waste. It is also about changing the resources into the renewable source of energy and raw materials that emit low waste products[3]. Company is always focused for environmental prospects but there are several other constituents related with it such as ecological, economic and social. Tiny Opera obeys the laws and regulations of the local government, and territory government. In order to conceive the accurate possibility of sustainability, a firm should collect data from various sources to plan and develop a policy[4]. The company should consult their stakeholders in the development process as they are key components of the company. Workers of the respective company should be aware and trained and the firm should prepare promotional activities for it. Tiny Opera Company prepares their plan in such a way that it shows their commitment towards the policy. The enhancement of strategies in the sustainability policy ensures that different stakeholders have the knowledge regarding the policy. Various steps have been taken by the Company to collect as much information from the people involved in the policy. It is vital to communicate the policy and its expected outcomes to stakeholders before implementing the policy[5]. The company knows the important to address the policy to key stakeholders. Implementing the policy before taking full support from stakeholders will create problems for it. The communication sometimes needs time as the modifications contain several new fundamentals. By informing the change to different stakeholders can motivate the employees and will also provide shade from the temporary disturbances that occur during a policy change. Tiny Opera also ensures that policy documents are available to everyone. After communicating the policies comes the translation of policy into goals. For it, tiny Opera should develop their workers mindset in such a way that it develops a sustainable value by preparing a pleasant and friendly working environment. The outcomes of the strategies should be specific and should portray a positive result[6]. After creating the sustainability policy it is important to develop the procedures to implement that policy. These policies can be better carried if these are created by board members and illustrate the route of the organization. To implement the policy, a large number of strategies is to be modified and many to be created. For developing the base of the policy, information must be gathered which evaluates the ability of the company to control effectiveness. It should also forecast the timeframes required to meet the goal and the cost incurred. It also includes the training of the staffs and maintaining the communication between different stakeholders. It is vital that the strategies of gathering the information are accurate. After that comes the monitoring of results and its influences. For Tiny Opera, it is essential for them to know the outcomes from the communication of different stakeholders for keeping the opportunities genuine. As sustainability policy is a new area where the company will focus, there is always a risk involved in its activity. This is usually because there is not much information available to determine the results of the company sustainability policy. But still, company can use their own gathered data for the development and implementation of the sustainability policy[7]. The company should make sure that their reports are accurate and positive as this is the new area for the company and will help in motivating the employees. It should also look for the people who are not taking interest and ignoring the new procedures. The firm should also look for the arrangements that are generating additional work from p eople and the problems associated with their suppliers[8]. Tiny Opera should implement the procedures of Safe Work which will help to safeguard employees from hazards and injuries. The company should reduce or eliminate the possible hazards at the workplace. Conclusion It is found from the above discussion that, it is important for every business entity to observe records and compare the results to the desired outcomes. It will help in keeping the sustainability policy directed and focused. Sustainability requires new techniques and technologies as it requires changing the policies and procedures of the company. It is important for the administrators of the respective business entity to ensure that the change is implemented in the policies of the company. The policies of Tiny Opera have also been conducted along with the options to improve it.
